Masterpiece historic city of Turin, Carignano theater has been renovated bold, more functional and meets the requirements of modernity. Technological transformation Gabriele Basilico has scrupulously recorded and returned in response to the command of Adele Re Rebaudengo Agarttha for Arte.

Architect by training, famous for his research on cities and the industrial landscape, Gabriele Basilico has made, from 2007 to January 2009, a campaign of shooting black and white, using, as usual, a room 10x12 .

The exploration of theater Carignano site is designed as an inner journey, the light penetrates to the heart of a system of scaffolding and bridges, that saturates the space to make it invisible and indecipherable. The photographer shows the stratification of visions evolve during the various stages of restoration and proposes a new "geography" of this fascinating place. His work is therefore to rebuild, where possible, new opportunities arising from the chaos and disorder, to identify new lines of flight, to finally find a center of gravity and balance.

It should look at these images as a result of endoscopy, as the sublime update which is now hidden, and the viewer will never do: the other side of the stage of one of the most beautiful theaters of Italy and the gold and the chandeliers are now shining again with all its lights.

This exhibition is part of the "Piedmont. A definition, "it is not only to establish the archives but to create a heritage. This body takes command in command, photographer photographer, exhibition on display. Heritage exchanges between artists and foreign institutions, but also and above all, artistic heritage which, over time, reflects the cultural and creative activity in the region and country.
