Video monitor, screens, raked seating and cushions greet visitors. The event is open to all. Professionals, amateurs the curious and passing visitors will find themselves a setting very like an installation or exhibition. The video, the image, the film and the screen are at once medium and memory, a narrative and creative work. Since 1982 numerous dancers and aficionados have been developing a real choreographic culture here. To celebrate this anniversary, 200 films present the work of 50 choreographers chosen, for the most part, from the immense range already shown at Videodance. From Nijinsky to Dominique Bagouet, from Pina Bausch to Jérôme Bel or from Merce Cunningham to the very young Daniel Linehan, Videodance pursues its mission to introduce and transmit the art of dance.
