Hello frends! I am an artist. My roots take place in St.Petersburg, which has great architecture, culture and history that influenced me once and forever. I seek out look for new shapes and images within my themes using different materials, but my favorite is glass for its plasticity and abi... [more]

OPEN CALL PHOTO15 | Presented by FRONT art space, NYC
Posted 8/28/15

PHOTO15 is an open call for artists to submit photographs that examine how technology and the internet have changed what it means to take a photograph. Interestingly enough, analogue photography has not only survived, but apparently has picked up popular momentum (2). Artists can submit digital and/or analog photography in color or black and whit... Confronting Manufactured Divides
by
Valerie Jouve at Jeu de Paume 8/31/15 Posted 8/31/15

In a time of rampant gentrification and widening socio-economic gaps, Valérie Jouve has storied the fraught relationship between the human body and the metropolis, imagining the latter as a theater in which her protagonists are behooved to adapt. Subjects with reclined heads, stiff facial expressions, or confident postures, their bodies caught in motion, create a narrative that wavers between survival and surrender in her Jeu De Paume retrospective, Bodies, Resisting, which spans a career large... In today's mode of techno-voyeurism, we're constantly peeking into the factory to see how the sausage is made. The artist's studio has always had an allure, the inchoate site of creativity, the setting for private practice—like an escort's boudoir, the biggest mystery is, what do they do when they're alone in there? We zoom in closer to see what artists keep on their most personal work space: their desk. What does it reveal about them, or about their art? We invite artists from very different... [more]

by Alexandra Chipkin On the evening of August 13th Guilmi seemed to be waking up. A cacophony of voices could be heard as townspeople and visitors gathered in a small piazza to listen to stories beingread aloud from inside a van. Later this van was opened up to reveal photographs lining the inside of the car: forming a small gallery. This gallery is in fact the perfect size for this town of no more than 200 people. The exhibition is called Avanzi, or leftovers. It is the result of about three we... [more]
