Hello frends! I am an artist. My roots take place in St.Petersburg, which has great architecture, culture and history that influenced me once and forever. I seek out look for new shapes and images within my themes using different materials, but my favorite is glass for its plasticit... [more]

Longlisted for Aesthetica Art Prize 2014: This blog appeared in the magazine: Nicholas Gentilli is a photographer with over 30 years experience of shooting places and spaces. His professional genesis lay, until 4 years ago, in the architectural photography that has represented the ‘bread and butter’ of his career, before he laid down his commercial toolbag in favour a pursuit of his more artistic urges. Q: Tracing this life-long pursuit back to its roots, what was it that first grabb... [more]

Mothers and Breastfeeding in Contenporay Art and Times
by
12/21/14 Posted 12/21/14

I think that for some reason a breastfeeding mother is a strange kind of theme in art and in our times in general...I think that role is not liked by men or women. It reminds men that we are basically biological animals and not super hero transformers, and feminists try to ignore the role because they are honoring women becoming CEOs and feel humiliated by being "milk bottles"...how sad...Very different from the honored attitude that existed in former centuries for mothers with babies in paintings... Workshop and Panel Discussion on Arts Funding in Torontol
by
12/19/14 Posted 12/19/14

I went to a panel workshop with arts administrators and politicians on a discussion about funding for the arts in Toronto... The talk was all about money and community and relationships, but nobody mentioned the media that never write about brilliant Canadian artists; and the rich Canadians and how to get them to part with their money for the arts. They obviously have to be educated and wooed and made to feel special as a cultured Canadian in order for them to feel proud of supporting great a... [more]

by
12/17/14 Posted 12/17/14

This is a “Season’s Greetings card” dedicated to the limited-edition of a 3 silk scarves series I created for my "Lacer/actions Art Project”. The images of dirty, torn, and worn paper of the publicity posters on outdoor billboard have become silk scarves too! After to be already transferred on canvases, lithographic prints and aluminium my "Lacer/actions" artworks were transformed in silk textiles designs thanks to collaboration of Bruno Boggia Disegni (Como, Italy) who...
