Description
America. Land of Opportunity. Streets paved with gold. The City of Gold. Chicago, Illinois USA. Welcome to the United States! Heat activated silk and gold and silver leaf add iridescence to this magnificent piece of work. Conceptual in design. Majestic in imagery I have fun applying each piece in this collage of silk and gold/silver leaf. The first step is applying the fabric and gold leaf to a buffermount that acts as a fusion that is activated when heated. After cutting the desired shapes out of the silk and gold or silver leaf, I arrange the patterns in a collage to create the visual images seen in the final works of art. Heat is applied to fuse the fabric or gold and silver leaf to the ragboard and creates a balance of muted earth tones between the collage and the natural paper tone. I hope you enjoy the piece as much as I do. May God continue to cover you in his golden hood of truth, light, and love. The final original piece is framed in gold using UV blocking museum glass.
