Description
This is one of the Black and Blue Series.
Black and blue refers not to bruises, but to mystery (black), and cool (blue). The imagery consists of patterns and textures, which have always fascinated me. Patterns ranging from the orderliness of grids to the seeming randomness of condensation; textures from the lushness of grass to the grittiness of rust.
These paintings are small, dark, intimate. They don't offer much from across the room. You need to stand right in front of one of them (or sit with one in your lap) and look into it. It's surprising what you can see over time. What you see changes. Your perception mysteriously evolves while you stare or let your eyes wander.
Many of these panels are elegant little compositions that will stand up to extended viewing and will engage you with their cool subtlety.
