Description
The market in Ganges in the Hérault takes place every Friday. Outside the café du marché a trio of musicians play jazz, entertaining the crowds in the market and those sitting sipping coffees. Ganges is one of the busiest most exciting markets in this area - catering for a wide area, Montpellier to the Cévennes, and is vital to the life of Ganges (pronounced "gonj") since the collapse of its historically important industries - silk and coal.
