Ilana Aviv

Exposed and hidden

This Work is deeply inspired by the breathtaking landscape of the desert, it symbolize the human layers of experiences, feelings, thoughts, emotions.

I am interested in challenging aesthetic codes as I push, bend, merge and advance the rigid and formal boundaries of minimalism, abstraction, and the conceptual, with elements of   scribble, dynamic yet minimal structures and architectural design. where desert visual elements become spiritual, and meanings and classifications dissolve.

This is my impression after visiting Yehuda desert ISRAEL where  one can feel the echo of historical episodes that took place more then two thousand years ago.
