Amaru

Since I was child I loved to hear stories that belong to an imaginary world in which native ancestral knowledge mixed with religious beliefs.  To this day Chile has a vast  intangible heritage in which I find  a source of inspiration for creating fictitious characters set in different scenarios.

"Culebrona" is one of those mythical characters still alive in many stories. The original is a male being half man half serpent or snake. I dreamed with the female version and she told me an interesting story, when I woke up I started this painting.
