Our History
Founded in 1981 by musician and composer, Gerry Eastman, The Williamsburg Music Center is home to the Gerry Eastman Quintet, its resident band, which performs every Friday and staffs the music education program.
In addition to its regular concert schedule, the Williamsburg Music Center welcomes guest artists and lecturers, and hosts a variety of enrichment activities, including weekly jam sessions, spoken word, dance, and art exhibits.
Our Philosophy
We feature some of the finest talent on the music scene today - both seasoned professionals and promising up-and-comers - and a fertile environment for those eager to learn. The Williamsburg Music Center is a 501 (C) (3) non-profit organization registered in the State of New York.
Our weekend jam sessions attract jazz aficionados from the trendy neighborhoods of Brooklyn to NYC's top tourist areas. We are happy to have returning travelers from all around the world. Without a doubt, you will enjoy the warm, relaxed atmosphere - and the very cool jazz!
