Founded in New York in 1995, Lombard Freid is a Chelsea-based contemporary art gallery with an international program and a global presence. Lombard Freid plays a critical role in premiering works by established international and American artists, as well as building the careers of younger talent. The gallery’s approach is informed by a sense of curatorial exploration and a commitment to artists whose work combines a remarkable visual vocabulary with strong socio-political and conceptual underpinnings. The gallery’s activities reach beyond our 19th Street exhibition space, as Lombard Freid continually supports new projects created by our artists for biennials, museums, and other cultural institutions around the world. Lombard Freid has introduced artists in the United States such as Cao Fei, Dan Perjovschi, Ulrich Lamsfuss, Mounir Fatmi, Lee Mingwei, Eko Nugroho, Lee Kit and Michael Rakowitz.
