The College of Saint Rose art gallery was established on campus in 1970. In 1978, it was relocated downtown to Picotte Hall, the Center for Art & Design, 324 State Street, in historic Center Square where it remained for 30 years. The gallery moved back to campus in the Fall 2008, and is housed in the Massry Center for the Arts. The ESTHER MASSRY GALLERY is a spacious, 2,200 sq. ft. space with an open floor plan and state of the art lighting. Its unique “Vertical Gallery” features large windows facing north and a 27 ft. high ceiling with the capacity to suspend 3,000 lbs. The new location offers prime visibility on Madison Avenue which connects the Pine Hills neighborhood with Albany’s Historic Center Square, Capitol and downtown.
