> DESCRIPTION
With a penchant for pop art and an instinctive ear to the ground, Brooklynite Gallery’s director Rae McGrath is breaking new ground in Bed Stuy. As an artist and filmmaker born & raised in Brooklyn, this artist-run gallery is geared towards street art with a hint of pop—but not necessarily. McGrath feels the art that will be featured at Brooklynite should not defined by category. “When you see something, and it just works---that’s the kind of art we plan to show.” The modern building that houses Brooklynite Gallery was designed and created by Rae McGrath---bringing modern design to the area has created an unprecedented buzz of excitement to the neighborhood. To reach director Rae McGrath, kindly email at info@brooklynitegallery.com.
Brooklynite Gallery is located at 334 Malcolm X Blvd. (between Decatur & Bainbridge Streets) Brooklyn, NY 11233, just two blocks from the Utica Ave. subway stop on the A or C subway lines.
