Sarah Hasted and W.M. Hunt opened their gallery in October 2005. Over the past two years, their shows and exclusive US representation of Erwin Olaf, Paolo Ventura, Jean-Paul Goude, Lynne Cohen and Andreas Gefeller have received much critical acclaim and coverage in the New York Times, The New Yorker, Photo District News, Photograph, The Art Newspaper, and Fortune Magazine among others. They were recently featured in the BBC’s “The Genius of Photography.”

Sarah Hasted and Bill Hunt have been active in the photography world for 50 years combined. Ms. Hasted has been a curator and dealer for over 22 years, and Mr. Hunt has been a photography collector for over 30 years and a dealer for 10. The programming for the gallery reflects the owners’ independent spirit and appreciation of the range of photography from classic vintage work to contemporary work by emerging artists. The Hasted Hunt aesthetic is bold and innovative. They respond to fresh and provocative work and are intent on promoting it. The artists they have championed have won major awards and grants like the National Endowment for the Arts, Ford Foundation, Guggenheim, Deutsche Borse, ICP Infinity Award, among others. Hasted Hunt consistently arranges and facilitates museum exhibitions for their artists and places work in the most prestigious collections in the world.They continue to add new artists to their roster and to represent classic vintage work by Joel-Peter Witkin, W.A. “Snowflake” Bentley, and Lisette Model.

Sarah Hasted and Bill Hunt have been involved in New York‘s professional, institutional and academic photography communities for many years, not only as dealers but also as teachers (Hasted at Parsons School of Design and Hunt at School of Visual Arts) as well as curators, consultants, writers, and supporters of not-for-profit activities. They have specialized in building and curating private collections. Their gallery programming also includes artists’ talks, educational seminars, book signings, lectures and other special events.
