We look forward to producing beautiful and meaningful exhibitions and catalogs throughout 2010. Below is a recap of 2009, and what you can expect from us in the future.
Although we have been hosting events in the art world since 2003, Fred Torres Collaborations opened its exhibition space in November 2008 with new sculptures and paintings by Alessandro Twombly. In 2009 we introduced to the world artists Gretchen Ryan, George Rahme, and Luca Pizzaroni with their first hugely successful solo exhibitions. 2009 also meant collaborating with the cultural community through dance performances by Walter Dunderville, poetry readings by Vincent Katz and events with Sculpture Center's New Art Network, Whitewall Magazine, and The Katonah Museum of Art. In addition, Fred Torres Collaborations organized half a dozen international exhibitions museum and gallery exhibitions of David LaChapelle including The Monnaie de Paris, the Sebastian Guinness Gallery in Dublin, and The Antiguo Colegio del San Ildefonso in Mexico City.
For 2010 we are planning exhibitions for David LaChapelle with Museums in Taipei, Beijing and the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. We are also co-curating our first group exhibition Knock Knock: Who's There? That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore, with Sarah Murkett slated to open on March 4th, 2010 in conjunction with The Armory Show.
