My life was going along as usual, working at my job as a sign maker and sewing my quilts and my garments in my spare time. Then on March 1st, 2004 at 9 AM, as a pedestrian, I was hit by a car. By some magic and in spite of being hit by a SUV, I had no broken bones. At 3 that afternoon I walked out of the hospital. I, however, did not escape injury completely and had enough soft tissue damage to keep me in physical therapy for the next year. It made it almost impossible to continue my present job as a sign maker. I had lost my strength and flexibility on my right side.
I had to rethink my life. “I can’t retire, so what can I do to make a living?”
After much thinking, I thought of doing what I have loved for years, sewing and quilting on a full time basis. Only this time I would use the internet to market and sell fabric, quilts and related items. Check my gallery page for samples of my work.
To share these lovely fabrics with you is a thrill. It is my purpose to work hard to bring you fabrics from around the world at the most reasonable prices possible.
As a quilter myself I understand your joys and your problems. In recent years I have watched prices rise and fully understand that this can be a hardship. In spite of the upward spiral of costs, we want to continue to make quilts and other gifts for our friends and family. I will make every effort to offer the best fabrics at the best prices. Always check my web specials.
Mile Square Fabric Studio is a woman-owned business.
