Chitra Ramanathan is a contemporary painter, educator and muralist. She is primarily a painter. Her paintings range from small to very large in size/scale.
Chitra'a paintings are included in corporate, public and private collections including educational institutions. She has completed invitational site-specific public art commissions such as a pair of large, signed paintings in the Bellagio Conservatory Botanical Garden of the MGM Mirage at Las Vegas that have been based on her previous originals.
Her work has attracted visiting arts lectures to institutions within the U.S and abroad, such as a 2005 invitation from Professor Dr. Maurice Cockrill to London's Royal Academy of Arts.
An educator as well, she has taught art as Faculty in Drawing, Acrylics, and Mixed-media Painting at the Indianapolis Art Center, Indiana, and currently in the Art School of the Vero Beach Museum of Art, Florida, USA
Invitational visiting artist lectures, adjunct professor positions, artist residencies, collaborative team projects, exhibition jury requests, site-specific public art commissions, freelance assignments, and invitations to teach courses from educational institutions are accepted:
* Commissions accepted from corporations or educational institutions to create custom work on any theme and size. (Please view images of paintings created for the MGM Mirage, Las Vegas, educational institutions such as the University of Illinois College of Medicine, mural for Crooked Creek Elementary School on this site as examples)
* Coordinating or assistance in art direction, set creation/set design/set construction/set decoration and or/painting projects to design, build, construct and paint custom props, create murals to consult and develop themes for churches, casinos, schools, hospitals or corporate projects.
* Teaching holiday courses in Drawing and Painting mediums
