You have to be sponsored by a non-profit to make appointments, such as Fractured Atlas or Circle Arts. Everything is FREE!! but the only thing you have to do are send thank you letters to the people who donated the goods. The first time I went I was overwhelmed with how much is there that is great stuff! Bolts of fabric, reams of paper, gallons of paint, office furniture you name it. The city's best resource.
