Little Red School House and Elisabeth Irwin High School (LREI) is one of the nation’s oldest and best-known progressive schools and has been a Greenwich Village landmark since

its founding by Elisabeth Irwin in 1921.  LREI serves students of all racial, ethnic, religious and socio-economic backgrounds as a nonprofit institution and relies on the generosity of its community to support its mission.  LREI’s Tuition Assistance Program provides the additional funds to allow the school to maintain its commitment to diversity.
