Andrew Edlin Gallery/ AE S P A C E is pleased to present a solo exhibition of Chico MacMurtrie and off-site installation By Chico MacMurtrie/ Amorphic Robot Works at the Anable Basin, Long Island City, Queens.

Gallery: A site-specific installation by Chico MacMurtrie, Inflatable Architectural Body is an interactive architectural sculpture. This new work highlights the artist's fascination with the connections between man, machine, and architecture. Here the onlooker's movements determine the sculpture's size, height, speed and variety of motions, making manifest humanity's interconnectedness with the environment.

AE S P A C E: Exhibits the high-definition video of MacMurtrie's recently completed project, Totemobile, commissioned by Citroën in Paris. Totemobile is a composition of 31 machines, which transform into a 90-foot totem that mechanically blooms. Presented with the video are renderings of the artist's vision, schematic drawings, production plans, and documents revealing how Amorphic Robot Works transformed the iconic Citroën car into a monumental organic machine.

Offsite: A Tree for Anable Basin, NY is an aluminum tree with wood birdhouses that sits on a floating island housing flora and fauna. The sculpture is designed to reflect the historical interplay between industrial and ecological activity that shaped Anable Basin the transforming waterfront of Long Island City, where industrial structures give way to high-rise condominiums, this metallic natural form functions as a "condominium for birds" set in a panoramic urban landscape.
