Ico Gallery is pleased to present “Lyrical Symposium,” a collective exhibition running through the month of October. The show will explore abstract ideals as the reality in which we live is interpreted through the minds of the best and brightest contemporary artists.

The artists in this exhibition base their pieces on concepts such as emotions and feelings, rather than the physical, making no attempt to re-create any recognizable likenesses. Their works have any traces of representational imagery removed, and instead display all visual information through pure line, color, and form. This separation from reality allows the viewer to use their own experiences to create meaning for these different and unique compositions.

It can be said that for every point there is a counter-point; the world around us is the ordinary, while the worlds created in this exhibition are the extraordinary. The artists in “Lyrical Symposium” take the world as it is, and through introspection and abstraction depict the world as they think it could be. There is only one reality; how it is perceived is up to the viewer.
