Seeing is Believing: The Art of Shaping Perception

Monday, June 22, 2009

PaceWildenstein, 534 West 25th Street, New York City

Adam Gopnik will moderate a discussion between artist Chuck Close and magician Mark Mitton about the shaping and manipulating of perception. The conversation, which benefits ArtsConnection, New York City's most comprehensive, not-for-profit, arts-in education organization, will be held in the exhibition Chuck Close: Selected Paintings and Tapestries, 2005- 2009 at PaceWildenstein 534 West 25th Street gallery. ArtsConnection, which will celebrate its 30th anniversary in the upcoming school year, provides programming in the performing, visual, and literary arts for children in over 100 public schools in all five boroughs. Guests who attend this discussion are asked to make a donation to support ArtsConnection's programs, starting at $100.

Cocktails will be held at 6 p.m., followed by the discussion at 6:45 p.m.

A limited number of tickets will be available. Please call 212. 750. 0840 to reserve a seat.
