Columbia University School of the Arts Visual Arts Program, in association with the Fisher Landau Center for Art, presents the 2009 MFA Thesis Exhibition, encompassing work by the 26 artists who will graduate from the program this May. The opening reception is this Sunday, May 3, from 2-5 p.m.

Regine Basha is an independent curator who has worked with emerging artists across the country and internationally, engaging both institutions and public spaces with new work and ideas for the past 16 years. http://web.me.com/ginabasha

"If I had to title this show, I'd call it SPACE, POWER, LIGHT, given all the meanings those words connote," Basha said. "It's a really engaged and striking group of artists this year."

The artists in the show are Cara Siik Benedetto, Christian de Vietri, David Brooks, Davida Nemeroff, Dennis Santella, Douglas Boatwright, Einat Amir, Eric Palgon, Eric Ramos Guerrero, Erik Vysocan, Gabriel Martinez, Gilad Ratman, Ian Cheng, Jaqueline Cedar, Mary Simpson, Michael Berryhill, Mira Dancy, Natalie Beall, Paul Heyer, Per Billgren, Peter Mandradjieff, Rona Yefman, Samara Golden, Valerie Piraino, Virginia Poundstone, and Zoe Nelson.
