Celebrate National Parks Week with New York artist Beryl Brenner and the National Park Service.
Ms. Brenner's work is composed of fused glass and mixed media which provides a virtual tour of the intriguing Olmsted landscapes that exist throughout North America. Olmsted, who once lived on Staten Island, was commissioned to design Central Park, a project which propelled him to national fame.
Based on the work of his architectural landscape firm Ms. Brenner's work re-introduces the work of Staten Island resident Frederick Law Olmstead and his sons to the public.
Ms. Brenner will be available to answer questions until 4:00 PM. Program will end in time for the 2:30 Fort Tour.
Beryl Brenner is a well known New York Artist. Ms. Brenner spent much of her career working with American veterans as an army arts director and art therapist for the VA. She has also exhibited her work in galleries in New York and around the nation. Having had the honor of exhibiting a piece at the Smithsonian affiliate Annmarie Gardens, in Solomon Maryland in2008/9, Ms. Brenner has also shown her work in several one woman shows.
