Maria Pureza Escaño's Surreal Works Now on Exhibit at New York's Ico Gallery
Following her highly successful international debut in "New Motions of the Figure" realism/figurative group show at the Ico Gallery in March, Filipina artist Maria Pureza Escano is back at the New York art scene as another set of her works joins Collide, a surreal/abstract show which runs from May 5 to 29, 2009.
Colide also features the works of global artists Susane Adame, Tedd Barr, Annie Fraser, Robert Perry, Colin Kilian, Karin Perez, Davor Vukovic, Marina Reiter, and Michael Schmotzer.
Escano's works which are being exhibited in Collide are Mother and Child, Tree at Sunset Hill II, Butterflies at Sunset Pond and Beyond Sunset Pond.
Escano will not be present to attend the artists' reception of this show since she is currently working on The Beachcombers of the Cebu Channel, a mural painting which she has been commissioned to paint in the lobby of the new Mariner's Court, a hotel in Cebu City owned by the All Japan Seamen's Union.
