Due to the extraordinary acclaim received at last weekend's Outsider Art Fair, we will install Jean-Pierre Nadau's 20 foot-long ink drawing, "New York n'existe pas" on site at our Chelsea gallery.

Completed towards the end of 2008, this india ink drawing on canvas offers skyline views and aerial overhead perspectives in a map format that stretches from Manhattan to the eastern end of Long Island. Nadau renders twisted versions of the Empire State Building (he calls it the Vampire State Building), the Statue of Liberty and other landmarks while tracing the flow of cars over the Brooklyn Bridge to the Long Island Expressway, leading to the manor where the infamous masquerade party scene takes place in Stanley Kubrick's "Eyes Wide Shut". The drawing is crammed with Nadau's signature hieroglyphic-like figures of people, cars and other mysterious symbols.
