Let's subtle down together.
let us
glide over
the shallows
and meet
somewhere
in the equidistance
and find
depth
where there
is none
Stone’s practice is steeped in poetics and mechanics resulting in works that enhance perceptual possibilities, giving the most familiar objects new meaning. The exhibition will consist of new sculptures including altered readymades, fabricated readymades and works that address the core of functionality, exhibition and design in an inventive manner. His approach to the space will be responsive to the gallery’s architecture utilizing inherent fixtures ranging from the tenement windows, stairs, radiator and electrical conduit.
William Stone has presented solo exhibitions at Tom Cugliani Gallery, Emily Harvey Gallery, James Fuentes Gallery (2000) and The Clock Tower/P.S. 1 Museum and participated in group exhibitions at The New Museum, Deste Foundation for the Arts, M.I.T. List Center for the Visual Arts, The Aldrich Museum and P.S.1 Museum.
