> DESCRIPTION
In his day, Hungarian Martin Munkacsi was one of the most famous photographers in the world; renown for modern and energetic photos of the 1920's and 30's,  which were widely published in German weeklies.  In 1933, he made a famous series for fashion images consisting of models running on a beach. Revolutionary for their informality and energy, he was offered a position at Harpers Bazaar in New York where he went on to fame and fortune. This exhibition, organized by F.C. Gundlach at the Haus der Photographie, Hamburg, includes over 125 vintage photographs as well as magazines and page layouts.
