> DESCRIPTION

This year's "FilmArtFunction" is a benefit art auction and artists' gala, taking place on October 23rd at the brand new beautiful Galapagos Art Space in DUMBO.

Guests will enjoy a private wine reception and hors d'oeuvres with artists, collectors and community members. Along with a wide-range of live performances, the highlight of the evening is a silent art auction featuring donated works by many leading NYC artists including Michael Ricardo Andreev, Barbara Hammer, Mark Wiener, Guy Stanley Philoche, Linda DiGusta, Susan Woods, Janet Cristenfeld and others. For more information on the contributing artists and tickets to FilmArtFunction, visit www.oneglass.org/faf

"FilmArtFunction" will be hosted by comedian Kendra Cunningham and features performances by pop-pianist Derrick Wang, illusionist Matthew Haicken, and mentalist Michael Matson, with music by DJ and Halcyon Records founder Shawn Schwartz. World famous ice-sculptor Joe O'Donoghue, will create an 8-foot tall ice installation for this event only, and raffle prizes include goods from Dumbo-based artists, merchants and visionaries.

This year FilmArtFunction benefits "Under the Bridges," a non-profit documentary project profiling artists and creative businesses in Brooklyn's DUMBO district who exceed expectations for environmentally sustainable practices and social responsibility.
