Ceres Gallery is pleased to present sight specific, the 2013 Ceres Gallery group exhibition of work by gallery artists who have not had a solo exhibition this season. Each year Chelsea audiences are treated to the eclectic aesthetic of Ceres' artists, all of whom are women, and their personal visual output. Released from the harness of the commercial gallery system where market considerations can dictate aesthetic choices, Ceres' artists have the freedom to make work based solely on their own vision and their own practice and that is exactly what they have done. The resulting exhibition has all the diversity of materials, form and narrative that make for a visually and intellectually rich aesthetic experience. It is truly amazing what freedom from the marketplace can do for arts creation and the women of Ceres, taken in the aggregate tell a story of community and fellowship and taken individually tell of a specific, personal, artistic journey.
