> DESCRIPTION
Stellar exhibition of eight artists works concerning mankinds placement in the universe. Artworks fall comfortably into the realm of surrealism and fantasy with themes touching on social, political, religious, spiritual and cultural concerns. Works of collaborative artists Dennis & Sharon Eavenson use card characters to symbolize leaders standing stalwart against the forces of modern times. As blend of pop cultural imagery these personalities are set within fields of strong abstract expressionistic brushwork. Gestural grounds envelope and infuse them with both tone and mood. References to human behavior concerning status, dominance and territory both politically and socially is evident. These medeival characters represent power centers emersed in turbulent worlds reflecting psychological mood and tone that mirrors the complexity of our modern day economic conditions.
