Sloan Fine Art will open its new location with "Undertow 3," the third installment of a group exhibition Alix Sloan curated in 2005 and 2006 at Aidan Savoy Gallery in New York and Roq la Rue Gallery in Seattle. "Undertow” celebrates the mysterious, nerve-wracking, ominous and/or exciting moment when something big happens or is about to happen, when you feel you are being drawn in, pulled along and/or something is revealed. In this context "Undertow" is more of a mood than an experience but selected artists have been invited to interpret the theme as they see it. Artists revisting the theme include Eric Finzi, Julia Marchand, Marion Peck, Jean-Pierre Roy and Aaron Smith. Artists new to the exhibition are Mia Brownell, Peter Drake, Cara Enteles, Nicole Etienne, Martin Kruck, Elizabeth McGrath, Ransom & Mitchell, Jonathan Viner and Brad Woodfin. An openign reception for "Undertow 3," with most artists in attendance, will take place Friday night, March 15th from 6 to 8pm.
