Tautologically speaking, zero is zero. Graphically speaking, zero is 0. Conceptually speaking, zero is the absence of presence and the presence of absence.

Haim Steinbach’s 0% (1997) is a fragment of found text, and also a physical object that occupies a gallery wall. Ben Vida’s hy.morf.eld (undersong edition) (2012) is a recording of sound objects that we sense with our bodies as much as with our ears.
