> DESCRIPTION

One Steinway Place, the official address of the Steinway piano factory in Queens, New York is our inaugural solo exhibition of work by Christopher Payne. Payne was allowed unlimited access to the factory and has created a behind the scenes document to this legendary institution. This will be the second body of work presented by the artist at the gallery, whose work from his book Asylum (with forward by Oliver Sacks) was featured in last summer's group exhibition. The Steinway work was featured in the April 29th, 2012 issue of The New York Times Magazine.
