KLOMPCHING GALLERY

Klompching Gallery is pleased to present FRESH 2012, showing the work of five new voices in contemporary photography: Martin Bogren, Barbara Ciurej & Lindsay Lochman, Monika Merva, Shawn Rocco and Tabitha Soren.

The objective of Fresh, is to showcase photography that is fresh in approach and vision. The curators looked for photographs that fully employ the medium of photography within the context of contemporary photographic practice. The selected work is showcased across three key platforms:

The following 10 short-listed photographers will be featured on the gallery’s website: Jeremy Chandler, Alex Fradkin, Matthew Gamber, Douglas Ljungkvist, Tom Morin, Joanna Piotrowska, Marisa Portolese, Julie Scheurweghs, Martin Usborne, Gesche Würfel.

From the selection process emerged an insightful dialogue, which not only encompassed the merits of each photographers’ submission, but navigated the conceptual texture and interplay of the final selections—stemming from showing work in the gallery, on the magazine page and via the internet. It’s a fresh approach and it’s brought about a different way of looking.
