"Dreams In Color" Artist Discussion
At Soho D & H Gallery
Tuesday July 1, 7 - 9pm
Curator Rene Abdo describes her theory behind the exhibit as bringing the
Dreams of New York back to color through this show. Artists are forced
to Compromise their lives daily and are boxed into professions that
are do not relate to their craft; talking with One9 and Pamella will
uncover the how they are able to live their dream and translate it
through their art. The relationship between visual art and music will
also be explored as both artist currently have pieces from the show
featured in music videos. The composition of the show will also be
explored through a narrative from the Curator.
Here is a quote from musician Talib Kweli about Pamella Allen's Work:
"Ms. Allen really came through with something evocative, expressing
the themes we were trying to illuminate with Jean Grae's new video for
her song "My Story", and did so in a subtle yet poignant way that
captured the essence of hope amidst the painful, controversial subject
matter of pregnancy termination. We were really pleased with the
collaboration, as it added greatly to the overall product."
