WHAT: The 2012 Tribeca Ball benefiting New York Academy of Art honoring Robert DeNiro.

On Monday, April 16th, the New York Academy of Art will host its annual Tribeca Ball honoring Robert DeNiro for his long time support of the arts, especially in Tribeca. This is the first time the NYAA has chosen an honoree.  As with all events at the Academy, it is a celebration of art that draws an eclectic mix of uptown and downtown personalities, art stars and taste makers.  Five floors of open studios offering the opportunity to collect artwork from more than 100 of the city’s most talented emerging artists! This much-anticipated art party features champagne, cocktails, live entertainment and surprises at every turn.  Dinner in the Academy’s exquisite Cast Hall follows.  Guests will also have the opportunity to view the donated works to the 2012 Tribeca Ball’s Artist Awards Program (On view at New York Academy of Art April 5th- 25th). Participating artists include Walton Ford, Cindy Sherman, Kara Walker and others. Their works will be awarded to filmmakers selected by the Tribeca Film Festival winners in their respective categories. Please join us for an event not to be missed. The 2012 Tribeca Ball is graciously sponsored by Van Cleef & Arpels.

The Academy promotes the development of an artist’s personal vision and the  creation of vital contemporary art by building upon the enduring  traditions of figurative painting, drawing, and sculpture. The New York Academy of Art is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational and cultural institution, offering an MFA degree program and a full roster of continuing education courses.
