Florence – the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. Come live and work in the city where Brunelleschi designed his magnificent dome and Michelangelo carved the heroic David, where Ghiberti, Massacio and Donatello created their greatest works. Be inspired to ignite your own personal renaissance as we draw and paint in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Charming street scenes, splendid cityscapes, bridges spanning the Arno, gardens and vistas, all bathed in Tuscan light, await your brush. We will also visit churches and museums to study some of Europe’s greatest masterpieces.
Thomas Torak’s paintings explore the possibilities of luminosity and atmosphere, motion and harmony, poetry and expression. While embracing the long held principles of traditional painting he employs an enigmatic technique, vigorous but subtle, classical yet contemporary, producing works of art with a distinctive quiet liveliness. Mr. Torak’s paintings have been awarded the American Artists Professional League Medal of Honor, the Audubon Artists Gold Medal of Honor, the Academic Artists Association Gold Medal of Honor, the Allied Artists of America Silver Medal of Honor, and the AAPL Frank C. Wright Medal of Honor. For more information on the instructor, please visit thomastorak.com.
