Frank Arcuri welcomes serious beginning and advanced students to explore the fundamental techniques of representational painting.  The workshop will focus on the time-honored genre of still life, with an emphasis on composition. Mr. Arcuri teaches specific, but not formulaic, ways of dealing with the inevitable obstacles that arise in the pursuit of a convincing visual depiction. He provides a step-by-step approach to perceive the nuances of light and form, as well as ways to think through unexpected problems, so that students may develop techniques to encourage creative intuition, intense observation and sensitivity to the subtleties of elements that form each composition.

A native New Yorker, Mr. Arcuri received his degree from the School of Visual Arts and has studied at the Art Students League. He is represented by the Eleanor Ettinger Gallery in New York, and he has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions across the United States, in London and in Hong Kong. His work has been featured in various publications including ARTnews and American Artist.
