The Angel Orensanz Foundation for the Arts is honored to announce upcoming exhibition by artistic brother duo Felix and Dexter Ciprián opening November 21, 2011 on view through November 30, 2011.
Hailing from the Bronx and based in Brooklyn the Ciprian Brothers call on their Dominican Republic roots and their urban environment for inspiration. Their youthful personalities add a refreshing take on found objects and forgotten spaces. For their exhibition, Felix and Dexter Present: Felix & Dexter, the artists are presenting both their collaborative pieces and their individual work in photography and collage.
“The exhibition showcases the blossom of a powerful, genetic creativity. The cold, sharp beauty of Dexter’s photographs reveals the odd decontextualization of urban landscapes, bringing the reality to an architectonic dimension. On the other hand, Felix searches for this decontextualization through a mannerist, artisanal process, achieving a mystical portrait full of magical, reinvented history.”
