Francesca Arcilesi Fine Art in collaboration with Contra Studios (122 West 26th St.,NYC, NY) is pleased to present “Sorry 4 The Wait”, named after hip-hop artist Lil Wayne’s album title. These sometimes controversial performers often flag social issues such as cultural differences, religion, opposition to violence, and the

economic devastation of our time. Now, perhaps more than ever before, time is of the essence: some of us wait for coffee, some of us wait on security lines at airports, others wait for a revolution, while others of us are initiators, seizing the moments that can bring about change in one form or another.

“Sorry 4 The Wait” examines the various human behaviors and their consequences involved in the acts of waiting, and of not waiting, whether for life in general or for a particular cause. The pieces in this show form a multicultural prism of the crosscurrents now shaping our society through which we can better come to terms with the decisions that must be made when waiting is no longer an option.

The show will include an installation by Lori Nelson entitled “Recession Souvenirs”, a continuing illustrated documentation of personal accounts of the recession, a video by Peter Ruprecht, who seizes the moment by turning an unforeseen tragedy into art, recording his fashion set as the entire backdrop erupted into flames. There will also be a live performance by Christina Freeman & Annie Berman.
