Eleven Rivington is pleased to present an exhibition of recent large-scale
paintings by Andrew Gbur, Keltie Ferris, and Jackie Saccoccio, on view from
September 7 October 16, 2011.
Works in the show - scaled to maximum - are concerned with varying degrees
of control in the painterly process: Gbur's bleeding industrial printer inks
defy the traditional constraint of painter's tape, resulting in contours
which refer to the support; Saccoccio governs her ostensibly liberated
painterly gesture through manipulation of gravity; Ferris employs an
unfettered industrial spray tool to create ambiguous spatial realms. The
installation is a conversation between large paintings about formal and
chromatic dissonance and frisson.
