High Line Art presents a public talk by artist Kim Beck at Bumble and bumble (415 West 13th Street, 3rd Floor) on Friday, May 6, 2011, 6:30PM - 7:30PM. Kim Beck uses images of architecture and landscape to make drawings, prints, paintings and installations that survey peripheral spaces. Her work urges a reconsideration of the built environment – peculiar street signs, gas station banners, overgrown weeded lots and self-storage buildings – and brings the banal and everyday into focus.
