Marni Kotak & Jason Robert Bell Present Four New Performances for Armory Arts Weekend 2011

(New York, NY, February 27, 2011) Brooklyn-based artists Marni Kotak & Jason Robert Bell will present four new performances for Armory Arts Weekend 2011. Throughout the Fountain Art Fair, the collaborative team will market a new sculptural product called the In2it at the Livesystems booth. On Saturday night, each will conduct a solo performance in conjunction with Grace Exhibition Space and Fountain Art Fair in the gallows of the Frying Pan. Then on Sunday evening, the two will return to their home base for Bushwick SITE Fest where Kotak will present her tribute to Bell: Jason Robert Bell is the Greatest Lover in The World, a 20ft. inflatable sculpture installed on the roof of her building.
Kotak and Bell have been collaborating since last year’s Armory Arts Weekend, where they presented their video Our Year (2010) at Brooklyn Fireproof, in conjunction with Bushwick SITE Fest 2010. Since then, they have also exhibited Double Face Fantasy (2010) in Chicago and Abu Dhabi, Caveman Robot: The Invocation of Alexander Hamilton (2010) for Escape From New York, Turtle Cove: The New Game For Tomorrow, Today (2010) for the WET! Summer Art Festival in McCarren Park.

Marni Kotak is a Brooklyn-based performance artist who creates interactive multimedia works in which she presents her life as art. Recent bodies of work include her MyHouse

About Jason Robert Bell
Jason Robert Bell's paintings, drawings, experimental films, sculptures, graphic works, internet pieces, outdoor installations, and theatrical performances have been exhibited and performed in New York, around the country and internationally. Bell graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, with a BFA in painting in 1995, and the Yale School of Art, with an MFA in painting in 2000. At the Livesystems booth at the upcoming Fountain New York Art fair (March 3-6th, 2011), Marni Kotak & Jason Robert Bell will be unveiling a new immersive sculptural product called the In2it. Upon entering this frosty white womb, you will be able to immediately intuit the right path to take in life.The overall goal of this piece is an experiment in marketing a transcendental experience within the economic parameters of a New York art fair. Caveman Robot will make a rare appearance, in which he will attempt to enlist the collective voices and wills of those present to commune with OOLAR, the Great Listener, his Goddess.

Livesystems presents Marni Kotak’s tribute to her boyfriend, Jason Robert Bell: a 20ft. inflatable sculpture installed on the roof of her building, visible by all throughout the weekend from the street in front of Maria Hernandez Park.
