We’re extending the “Process: Abstract Painters” show for another week! And in what we hope becomes a tradition, we are also holding a two hour closing reception for the exhibition, featuring informal artists’ talks for q&a time about methods, processes, and inspiration. The opening inspired such great conversations that we couldn’t resist!
This is the first installment of our Process series, the goal of which is to share, compare, and explore the myriad ways in which artists arrive at a finished work. We invited artists to submit finished pieces, along with the images, sketches, photographs, notes, and materials that helped them arrive there.
We asked them to submit a series; photograph their work in various stages; send in a sketchbook; let go of the idea of the ‘finished product’ and celebrate the evolution of the ideas themselves.
The resulting exhibition is a fascinating peek into the creative minds of painters. Subsequent shows in the Process series will focus on other media.
Join us on Friday, February 18 from 6-8pm to celebrate once again this remarkable collection of work. Hope to see you there!
