The Dorsey Art Club presents the “SOUNDS OF BLACKNESS” Art Show featuring beautiful pieces from African-American artists Karl McIntosh, Deborah Shedrick, Michael Kelly Williams and Ken Wright with a celebratory opening taking place at the Dorsey Art Gallery located at 553 Rogers Avenue in Brooklyn on Sunday February 13th 3:00pm to 8:00pm.
The closing reception will be held Sunday February 27th, 2011 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm. Additionally, the Dorsey Art Gallery will be open on Saturdays February 138th & February 26th, 2011 from 3:00pm – 6:00pm and weekdays by appointment only for private viewings.

The Dorsey Art Gallery, established in 1970 by the late owner Lawrence Peter Dorsey is the oldest, continuously active, black-owned art gallery in New York City. The Dorsey Art Club created in 2003 is a committee of long-time friends of the gallery consisting of artists and collectors committed to the mission of promoting artists from communities of color though the hosting of exhibitions and special events at the gallery.
