INVITATION TO ARTISANS: ART FOR CHANGE HOLIDAY ARTISAN FAIR
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 24, 2010!
Art for Change is pleased to present its first Holiday Artisan Fair,
December 11 & 12, noon-6:00pm! The Holiday Artisan Fair will showcase
unique wares from emerging artisans, providing a platform for artisans
to sell their works while creating a festive holiday market filled
with useful and decorative gifts for in the East Harlem community and
beyond – just in time for holiday shopping! Artisans will be selected
based on innovation and distinction in design and aesthetic.
Independent artists with handmade artwork will receive preference,
although applications will be considered from organizations or
individuals selling fair-trade goods created by artisans in the
developing world and supporting economic growth of developing
communities. Simply email your submission for a chance to share your
artwork with holiday shoppers seeking creative gifts! We expect twelve
to fifteen spaces will be available. If you are selected, the cost for
participating is $20 for individual artists selling their own artwork,
or $40 for organizations and individuals selling fair-trade artworks.
Each vendor selected will get 1-2 chairs, small table if needed, plus
limited floor and wall space; clothing racks must be provided by the
vendor. Gallery space is very limited, so creative use of space with
smaller table requests or clothing racks, and minimal use of wall
space would be greatly appreciated. The Holiday Artisan Fair will take
place at Art for Change Gallery, 1699 Lexington Avenue (between 106th
& 107th Streets). Please note set-up time will be 9:30am-11:30am on
Saturday, November 11, all vendors must be completely set up by
11:30am and remain set up until 6:00pm, and late set-up and early
break down is not permitted.
ARTISAN SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: Submissions should include all of the
following: NAME, EMAIL, PHONE NUMBER, BUSINESS NAME, ADDRESS, BRIEF
DESCRIPTION OF YOUR PRODUCTS AND PRICING, LINK TO YOUR WEBSITE OR 3-5
IMAGES OF YOUR WORK, AND NUMBER OF CHAIRS OR TABLE SIZE REQUESTED FOR
YOUR BOOTH. Please email submissions with website link or images to
Claudia Plaza at firstname.lastname@example.org or Kendea Johnson at
email@example.com. Please include "YOUR NAME: HOLIDAY FAIR" as
