The Funny Face project will consist of 100 of the country’s top contemporary artists taking on the classic smiling Coney Island Funny Face. Each artist will be given a hand-cast hydrocal Funny Face (10”X10”X3”) to decorate, deconstruct, reinvent etc. in absolutely anyway they see fit. The faces will be shown September 14th-16th at the Jonathan O’Hara Gallery in the Fuller building at 41 East 57th Street and Madison Avenue (www.johg.com) and auctioned off at the closing night reception. All auction proceeds will go directly towards supporting Coney Island USA’s programs and the fight to preserve the historic amusement district of Coney Island.
