> DESCRIPTION

We are excited to announce a Raffle to raise funds for The Edible Schoolyard , a program of the Chez Panisse Foundation held in conjunction with the publication of Maira Kalman's most recent book And the Pursuit of Happiness. The book version of Maira Kalman's 2009 year long blog for The New York Times "And the Pursuit of Happiness" will be released in October.  The November chapter is devoted to Alice Waters and the Edible Schoolyard Project in Berkeley.  There is also an Edible Schoolyard project in Brooklyn.

 

 

Raffle Drawing at 6 pm, by Maira Kalman and Alice Waters

1st Prize: Maira Kalman Cherry Pie gouache painting (pictured above)

 

2nd Prize: Chef for a Day.  An afternoon cooking with the Chef at Chez Panisse in Berkeley followed by a dinner for two in the  kitchen

 

3rd and 4th Prizes:  Signed copies of Maira Kalman And the Pursuit of Happiness and Alice Water's new book In the Green Kitchen: Techniques to Learn by Heart

 

500 tickets, limit 2 tickets per family. Winners will be notified by November 5th.

Click here to make a donation of $50 or more to the Chez Panisse Foundation.  Each donation will enter you into a raffle to win one of the above four prizes. 100% of all donations will benefit the work of The Edible Schoolyard. Limit two per family.
