Max Lang and Galerie Haas und Fuchs announce the opening of Julius Grunewald: 10000 Jahre, the artist’s first solo exhibition in the United States.  Thirteen richly decorated interiors are the subject of this new body of work.  They elaborate upon a motif Grunewald has been investigating most of his career – his childhood home in the historic Southwestern German city of Worms.  The rooms are not straightforward depictions; rather, the artist’s memory reigns supreme.  He creates paradoxical environments where the differences between reality and his pictorial translations thereof reveal themselves only after careful scrutiny.
